After being pushed to three sets two days ago, Carlos Alcaraz had a more straightforward day at the office in Cincinnati on Tuesday, defeating Hamad Medjedovic in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

The Spaniard’s victory over his fellow 22-year-old was a special one, too—it was his milestone 50th win of the year. In fact, he’s the first player, male or female, to record 50 wins this year.

Alexander Zverev has the next-most wins on the men’s tour this year with 40, while Aryna Sabalenka leads the women with 49.

MOST WINS IN 2025 (men and women, tour-level):

  • 50: Carlos Alcaraz
  • 49: Aryna Sabalenka
  • 45: Iga Swiatek
  • 40: Alexander Zverev (playing tonight)
  • 38: Taylor Fritz

Jessica Pegula can join the above list with her 38th win of the year if she wins her third-round match against Magda Linette tonight.

With his win over Medjedovic, Alcaraz has STILL never lost to anyone younger than him. He's now 10-0.

And there’s more.

Alcaraz is the only man to win 50 or more matches in each of the last four years, and no other man can join him in that stat, as he was the only man to hit that number in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

ALCARAZ WIN-LOSS RECORDS BY YEAR (tour-level):

  • 2020: 1-1
  • 2021: 32-17
  • 2022: 57-13
  • 2023: 65-12
  • 2024: 54-13
  • 2025: 50-6 (so far)

There’s only one woman who can join Alcaraz in this stat, and that’s Iga Swiatek—she won 67 matches in 2022, 68 matches in 2023 and 64 matches in 2024. No other women's player hit 50 match wins—let alone 60—in all three of those years.

The new Wimbledon champion has 45 wins so far in 2025.
