In November 2012, a teenaged Casper Ruud joined the YouTube nation—briefly. Over six months, he published a handful of videos that included footage of his idol Rafael Nadal playing at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell.

The Norwegian’s channel then went dark for nearly 13 years. That all changed this past Sunday, when the now three-time Grand Slam finalist surprised his fans with an unexpected vlog.

The title, “A Day In My Life”, lives up to its name.

In the 23-minute debut episode, Ruud takes viewers from his morning rise at home just after 7 a.m. through his various training activities throughout the morning and afternoon. Key team members, such as dad and head coach Christian Ruud, close friend, hitting partner and “lexicon” Joachim Bjerke, and fitness coach Jon Aase, are also brought into the fold with light-hearted jabs and good laughs to break up formal introductions.

“I feel like YouTube gives us the space to go deeper than other platforms. It’s a chance to show the work behind the scenes and the people who are part of the team,” Ruud tells TENNIS.com about the motivation behind rebooting his channel.

The world No. 13 is the latest ATP player with designs to present fans a slice of life on and off the tour. Arthur Fils and Alex de Minaur launched their own YouTube channels earlier this season, after Ben Shelton debuted his in December 2025. Pros such as Karue Sell, Jules Marie and Felix Mischker are among the established standout creators, following in the footsteps of Stefanos Tsitsipas. WTA star Daria Kasatkina and her fiancée Natalia Zabiiako, of course, have led the way in recent years with their popular “What The Vlog” channel since November 2022.

As for Ruud’s plans, there isn’t a set calendar or structure for how his vlog will be rolled out.

“We’ll treat it more as a flexible project. Some tournaments might be great for content, other times we’ll wait until there’s something special to share,” he shared.

A second installment went up Wednesday ahead of his first match at the Delray Beach Open. “Give me one more view,” he joked with Valentin Vacherot after practicing with the 2025 Shanghai Rolex Masters champion.

Ruud, who recently celebrated the birth of his first child—a daughter—with wife Maria, opened his bid for a first season title by battling back from the brink of defeat against Marcos Giron. The No. 2 seed was two points from exiting in his opener before rallying to win, 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-4.

How does Ruud find his inner servebot after producing a 20 ace and 0 double fault performance? A topic to address, perhaps, for his next vlog.
