Coco Gauff was in good spirits after reaching the 2026 Miami Open final, teasing Christopher Eubanks after gifting her good friend-turned-commentator an autographed tennis ball.

With Steve Weissman kicking off the Cadillac Tennis Channel Desk interview, Gauff had some light-hearted smoke for Eubanks after her 6-1, 6-1 win over Karolina Muchova:

STEVE WEISSMAN: How’s that feel, a straight-sets win?

COCO GAUFF: I guess I knew Chris was here and I didn’t want him to work overtime. I don’t know if he’s paid by the hour or not. I wanted to save Tennis Channel some money!

Eubanks teased back, referring to Gauff as “Bamboo Bae,” a referenced to their ill-fated trip to an escape room.

“You can’t listen to her,” Eubanks said in response to Gauff’s accusation that he was “the worst” in the escape room. “Everyone around her’s just going to agree with her.”

“I know the guy who owns the escape room,” countered Gauff. “I could maybe ask him to pull up the tape.”

“Yeah, she took a picture with his daughter so he’s for sure going against you,” said Eubanks.

“They can’t alter footage, although I guess with AI, now, maybe,” Gauff added with a laugh.

Gauff later confirmed that, after cracking up in several interviews with Eubanks, her strategy for making it through them is simply to avoid eye-contact.

Into her first Miami Open final, the world No. 4 awaits the winner of the blockbuster semifinals between the No. 1 and No. 2 players in the world, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina.
