Felix Auger-Aliassime wants to return right where he left off as he starts the new season.

The Canadian finished by winning three ATP titles and leading his country to Davis Cup victory, and is looking to get back on a similar run as he returns to competition this week at the ATP 250-level Adelaide International.

"When you have it, you try to ride that wave," he told press at Adelaide. ''You try to kind of keep going with what's working as much as you can."

Auger-Aliassime had not even won his first career title until lifting the trophy at the ATP 500 at Rotterdam in the first half of the season, but his recent success indicates he's now playing consistently at a higher level.

"I feel like momentum plays a huge role on your confidence," he said. "I feel like it's about understanding why you're succeeding constantly and trying to do it again."

And he's had no big changes coming into the season, only bigger aims.

"I'm confident with the way I've been training, with the way I've prepared," said Auger-Aliassime.

Auger-Aliassime is the second seed, with Novak Djokovic leading the way for the field in Adelaide.
