Andy Murray is starting a coaching trial with Johanna Konta's former coach Esteban Carril this week in Stockholm according to PA.

US Open champion Emma Raducanu also trialled Carril as a coach following Indian Wells, but is now looking elsewhere. Raducanu is reportedly close to announcing longtime Angelique Kerber coach Torben Beltz as a permanent hire, according to an exclusive in The Telegraph. The 18-year-old split with coach Andrew Richardson following her surprise win at the US Open, having initially brought him on for the hard-court season.

She does not have a coach with her at the Upper Austria Ladies Linz this week, but indicated that she should have a new coach in place by the Australian Open.

"I’m in a very good position. It’s just a bit confidential," PA quoted her as saying. "It’s not fully done."

An LTA coach, Carril has recently been working with another British player, Katie Swan, who is represented by Murray's 77 management agency. Swan said she had "learnt so much" from their collaboration, finishing with a win at an ITF event.

Murray has had Jamie Delgado as his coach since 2016, but the three-time Grand Slam champion, currently ranked No. 143, could be looking to add to his team as he returns to playing a full schedule.

Murray is competing at the Stockholm Open as a wildcard.
