August 23 2025 - Jack Draper 3resize

Less than two weeks after being forced to withdraw from the US Open, Jack Draper has shut down the remainder of his 2025 season.

The left-hander had won his opening match in Queens, before pulling out ahead of his second-round contest with Zizou Bergs. On Monday, Draper revealed that the left arm issue that initally kept him out of Toronto and Cincinnati and then cut short his stay in New York will need a significant period to heal.

“Unfortunately, the injury to my arm is something I have to rest and means I’ll be sitting out the rest of 2025. It is very difficult for me to accept as I was building some incredible momentum this year and playing some great stuff,” the 2024 US Open semifinalist wrote on his social media.

Draper’s 2025 season will go down as a tale of two halves. The 23-year-old captured his maiden ATP Masters 1000 crown at Indian Wells and finished runner-up at the Mutua Madrid Open on his way to breaking the Top 5 of the ATP rankings.

But after a final-four showing at The Queen’s Club in London, Draper appeared in just two tournaments. The London native bowed out to Marin Cilic in the second round of Wimbledon, before being diagnosed with a bone bruise in his left humerus that left him unable to serve for a month.

The world No. 7 didn’t step on a match court again until partnering Jessica Pegula to the semifinals of the US Open’s reimagined mixed doubles event while debuting a new partnership with Vuori during Fan Week at Flushing Meadows.

“I’ve been through this before and I always come back stronger as I’m so motivated to fulfill my potential as a player,” he declared. “Huge thanks to everyone who backs me to do well and supports me on my journey. Can’t wait to get back out there and give it my all. See you soon!”

Draper was in contention to qualify for his first trip to the Nitto ATP Finals, ranked ninth in Monday’s latest race to Turin standings.
