HIGHLIGHTS: Jannik Sinner beats Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon

Jannik Sinner returns to competition this week at the ATP event in Umag, looking to reinvigorate his season with the confidence he's gained from his quarterfinal run at Wimbledon.

The 20-year-old Italian went five sets against eventual champion Novak Djokovic, and toldLa Repubblica he did plenty of tossing and turning that night as he mentally replayed the contest again.

"I immediately reviewed the highlights. I want to learn immediately. I take a lot of positive things from Wimbledon," he said. "I did a good match. I could do better. I would have liked to have been a little more aggressive in the third and fourth sets.

"I have to say that in every tournament I play I play to win. Obviously following my injuries and problems this season, I take confidence from what I achieved at Wimbledon."

Sinner withdrew from Hamburg with the ankle injury he experience during his quarterfinal at Wimbledon, and also had to retire during the French Open. He's won five titles in his career, but none so far this season.

But he's looking to start climbing again. Having taken only a few days off, he's been training hard with his new team.

The world No. 10 added Simone Vagnozzi as his coach following the Australian Open, and recently also brought on Darren Cahill.

"Simone is very good technically and tactically," said Sinner. "Cahill has a lot of experience. He has shown that with players like [Andre] Agassi and Simona Halep. He's very good at motivating me before going on court."
