Reiging Australian Open champion Madison Keys became the latest Top 10 seed to fall at Wimbledon on Friday, losing 6-3, 6-3 to German veteran Laura Siegemund in the third round.
The reigning Australian Open champion, seeded No. 6, hit 31 unforced errors to hit herself out of the tournament against the 37-year-old, who is through to the fourth round for the first time in six career Wimbledon main draws.
Keys' defeat marked the 11th for a Top 10 player in singles so far this Wimbledon.
The women's draw lost No. 2 Coco Gauff, No. 3 Jessica Pegula, No. 5 Zheng Qinwen and No. 9 Paula Badosa in the first round, and No. 4 Jasmine Paolini in the second. In the men's draw, No. 3 Alexander Zverev, No. 7 Lorenzo Musetti, No. 8 Holger Rune and No. 9 Danill Medvedev lost at the first hurdle, and No. 4 seed Jack Draper was upset by former US Open champion Marin Cilic in the second round on Thursday.
