Madison Keys vs. Elena Rybakina: Match Preview
Not only will this be a clash between Grand Slam champions, it's also the first match-up of the tournament between Top 10 players—that's in either the men's or women's draw.
And they're both in strong form, too, the No. 6-ranked Keys fresh off a quarterfinal appearance in Montreal, and the No. 10-ranked Rybakina coming off of back-to-back semifinals in Washington D.C. and Montreal.
When it comes to their history against each other, Keys has a few edges overall—not only does she lead their overall head-to-head, 3-2, but she also won their only previous meeting this year, a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 victory in the fourth round of the Australian Open (which she ended up winning). The American also won their only previous meeting in Cincinnati, a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the quarterfinals in 2022.
They're an even 2-2 against each other on hard courts, though.
