WATCH: The Break: Coco Gauff, Sofia Kenin and Citi Open preview

No. 8 seed Marie Bouzkova needed just over an hour and dropped only three games in a final rout against No. 7 seed Anastasia Potapova on Sunday to lift her first WTA trophy at the Prague Open.

The home favorite was competing in her fourth WTA final, and her second of the year after falling to Sloane Stephens in Guadalajara.

But there’s clearly nothing like playing on home soil for Bouzkova, who became the tournament’s fifth Czech champion with a 6-0, 6-3 victory.

"It's a dream for me to win my first title here at home," Bouzkova said during the trophy ceremony.

"I just couldn't be happier... It's a dream come true and I enjoyed playing in front of the home crowd so much."

Currently ranked No. 66, Bouzkova will rise to a new career-high Top 50 ranking on Monday.

Bouzkova took control from the start of the contest, which saw her reel off the first seven games in a row for a commanding lead. The 24-year-old broke serve four times in the second set, as she held off an early comeback effort from the Russian.

Potapova racked up 12 winners across both sets, but her efforts were undone by her 44 unforced errors; by contrast, Bouzkova didn’t hit a single winner and only eight unforced errors in the match.

"The fan support was unreal, ever since the first match,” Bouzkova highlighted. “It was really special for me to experience this... I'm so happy that it led to the title.

“I definitely couldn't have done it without the fans here."

Potapova was back on court a few hours later, as she partnered Yana Sizikova for the doubles title. The pair took down Angelina Gabueva and Anatasia Zakharova 6-3, 6-4 in the final.
