Alexander Zverev has entered next week's ATP event at Geneva, aiming for some more time on court before the French Open.

The 22-year-old German fell in his opening round at Rome this week, the seventh time in eight events he has exited in the first or second round.

"The match that I played was horrendous," he said.

Grigor Dimitrov, also looking for more competitive play, is playing in Geneva qualifying. The former top 10 player is now ranked 48 following a poor season.

Local favorite Stan Wawrinka is also in the field. No. 5-ranked Zverev is the top seed.
