Novak Djokovic to finish 2025 at No. 4 on ATP rankings, his record-breaking 16th Top 4 finish

It's been another excellent season for Novak Djokovic, highlighted by reaching the semifinals of all four Grand Slams, as well as capturing the milestone 100th tour-level title of his career in Geneva—and then adding onto that a few weeks ago with his 101st in Athens.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion also reached his record-extending 60th Masters 1000 final in Miami, as well as his record-extending 80th Masters 1000 semifinal in Shanghai.

Despite missing a number of Masters 1000 events and the ATP Finals, all of the above results and more have helped him maintain his ranking in the No. 4 to No. 7 range all year, and he's going to finish the season at No. 4 when the ATP's year-end rankings come out.

And with that No. 4 finish, he's going to break another record.

This will be Djokovic's 16th career Top 4 finish, breaking a three-way tie with the other two members of the Big 3—Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal—for most Top 4 finishes in ATP rankings history.

Half of Djokovic's Top 4 finishes—eight—were at No. 1, another all-time record. Federer and Nadal each have five No. 1 finishes.

In terms of most Top 5 finishes, coincidentally, it's the same three names in the same order, as they each had one year-end No. 5 finish in their careers—Djokovic in 2022, Nadal in 2015 and Federer in 2020. So that list goes Djokovic 17, and Federer and Nadal tied at 16.

Another legend, Jimmy Connors, is in fourth place on both lists, with 14 career Top 5 finishes, all of which were also Top 4 finishes.

The ATP's official year-end rankings for 2025 will come out after the last tour-level competition of the year, the Davis Cup Finals, which take place this week (but offer no ranking points).
