Alexander Zverev won the last match in Bercy, as Ugo Humbert’s fiery fairytale run ended with a weary thud

The 24-time major winner announced Tuesday that he had withdrawn from the Rolex Paris Masters, which begins Sunday in its first year at La Defense Arena.

"Dear Paris, unfortunately I’ll not compete at this year’s @RolexPMasters. I have amazing memories and great success over the years, especially being able to conquer the title seven times. Hope to see you next year. Merci," he shared.

Djokovic previously noted at the Shanghai Rolex Masters earlier this month his non-committal to compete at a tour event again this season outside of the Hellenic Championship in Athens, where he now has a base. The ATP 250 event relocated from Belgrade this year, with Djokovic’s brother Djordje serving as tournament director since 2021.

It now remains to be seen whether Djokovic will participate at the Nitto ATP Finals. Over the weekend, Djokovic became the third player to qualify for the eight-man event in Turin after world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and defending champion Jannik Sinner.

“After Shanghai, the only tournament I know I'm going to play is the one in Athens. And then let's see if I play Turin or not, I'm not sure yet,” Djokovic stated in China en route to a semifinal appearance.

In 2024, Djokovic withdrew from the Paris Masters—where he won a record seven titles when it was held in Bercy—before opting out of the year-end championships.

The new Athens event will be staged indoors at OAKA Basketball Arena. In addition to Djokovic, Karen Khachanov, Jiri Lehecka, Jakub Mensik and Joao Fonseca are among the entrants.
