The latest ATP Race to Turin standings are out following the conclusion of Tokyo and Beijing, as the battle heats up for the last six spots in the eight-man field at the ATP Finals, to be held from November 9th to 16th in Turin, Italy.

Coincidentally, the only two players who have already qualified—Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner—were the champions in Tokyo and Beijing, the Spaniard winning in the Japanese capital for the first time and the Italian winning in the Chinese capital for the second time in the last three years.

But several other players make notable moves on the race standings this week after making deep runs at the two ATP 500 events this past week.

The biggest jump among the Top 15 on the race standings this week comes from Casper Ruud, who rises from No. 13 to No. 11 after reaching the semifinals in Tokyo, where he fell to eventual champion Alcaraz in three sets.

Ruud, whose season so far has been highlighted by winning the first Masters 1000 title of his career in Madrid, is trying to qualify for the ATP Finals for the fourth time, having played the season finale in 2021 (reaching the semifinals), 2022 (reaching the final) and 2024 (reaching the semifinals).

Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur and Holger Rune are also among the upwards movers after they all reached the quarterfinals or better in either Tokyo or Beijing. Fritz did the best of them all, reaching the final in Tokyo.

ATP RACE TO TURIN, TOP 15 (after Tokyo and Beijing):

  • No. 1: Carlos Alcaraz—11,040 points [QUALIFIED]
  • No. 2: Jannik Sinner—8,450 points [QUALIFIED]

  • No. 4: Novak Djokovic—4,180 points [-1]
  • No. 5: Taylor Fritz—3,785 points [+1]
  • No. 6: Ben Shelton—3,710 points [-1]
  • No. 7: Alex de Minaur—3,345 points [+1]

  • No. 14: Holger Rune—2,290 points [+1]
  • No. 15: Karen Khachanov—2,210 points [-1]

Note: Jack Draper, who's currently at No. 9 on the race standings, ended his season after the US Open due to an arm injury, so Ruud is effectively second out from the Top 8 at the moment, after Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Alcaraz became the first player to qualify for this year's ATP Finals, doing so almost three months ago on July 8th after his quarterfinal win at Wimbledon. It's his fourth straight year qualifying for the year-end championships.

A month later on August 8th, Sinner became the second player to qualify, and he'll be playing the event for the third straight year and fourth overall. He's the defending champion, having won the title last year without dropping a set.

Players will continue to try and join Alcaraz and Sinner in the field over the next week and a half as they battle it out at the Masters 1000 in Shanghai.
