It’s already been a week to celebrate for Marin Cilic, as he made a winning return to the tour in Montreal on Tuesday with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Borna Coric, his first match since having to withdraw from Wimbledon after testing positive for COVID-19.

And the reasons to celebrate keep coming: with a 6-3, 6-2 second-round win over Karen Khachanov at the Masters 1000 event today, Cilic has become the fifth active man—and just the 14th man in the entire Open Era—to record 350 career wins on hard courts.

MOST CAREER HARD-COURT WINS IN OPEN ERA (men, tour-level):
783: Roger Federer (783-155)
636: Novak Djokovic (636-119)
592: Andre Agassi (592-158)
511: Rafael Nadal (511-141)
490: Jimmy Connors (490-100)
476: Andy Murray (476-151)
429: Pete Sampras (429-103)
426: Andy Roddick (426-138)
415: Michael Chang (415-173)
401: Tomas Berdych (401-216)
399: Ivan Lendl (399-84)
382: Stefan Edberg (382-104)
372: Lleyton Hewitt (372-158)
350: Marin Cilic (350-196)

Cilic has now won 10 of his last 12 matches, having gone 5-1 to reach the semifinals of Roland Garros for the first time in his career, then 3-1 to reach the semifinals of Queen’s Club before having to withdraw from Wimbledon, and now 2-0 so far in Montreal.

Awaiting the 2014 US Open champion and former No. 3 in the third round will be American Tommy Paul, who upset No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz earlier in the day.
