After battling to a 6-4, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo in the first round on Tuesday, Rafael Nadal did it all over again on Thursday, posting another four-set victory over Lithuania’s Ricardas Berankis in the second round, 6-4, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

And with that three-hour, two-minute victory over Berankis, Nadal made some history: it was his 307th career win at a Grand Slam, surpassing Martina Navratilova for fourth-most career wins at a Grand Slam in tennis history, among men AND women.

MOST CAREER GRAND SLAM WINS (male or female, all-time)
369: Roger Federer (369-60)
365: Serena Williams (365-55)
329: Novak Djokovic (329-47)
307: Rafael Nadal (307-41)
306: Martina Navratilova (306-49)

Those five players are the only five players ever to reach 300 wins at majors.

Up next for the No. 2-seeded Nadal will be the No. 27 seed, Lorenzo Sonego.
