It’s been a tough few weeks for 24-year-old French lefty Ugo Humbert—after falling in the second round of his title defense at the ATP 500 event in Halle the former No. 25 dropped out of the Top 100 on the ATP rankings, from No. 50 to No. 103, and he came into Wimbledon down at No. 112, his lowest ranking since 2018.

But he seems to be gathering steam again at Wimbledon—he defeated Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry, 6-3, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, to reach the second round of a Grand Slam for the first time since the 2021 Australian Open, and on Wednesday he upset No. 3 seed Casper Ruud, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4, to reach the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time since he made the fourth round of 2019 Wimbledon.

And with his win over the No. 6-ranked Ruud, Humbert continues a giant-killing pattern: he’s now won 7 of his last 10 matches against Top 10 players.
