LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19, 2024 – Tennis Channel’s annual lead-in show Tennis Channel Live at the US Open will return Monday, Aug. 26, at 9 a.m. ET, and air most mornings of the two-week competition. The program will again be a mixture of news, highlights, opinion and special reports during the US Open, America’s most prestigious tennis event and one of the sport’s four majors.
With this year’s tournament underway Monday, Aug. 26-Sunday, Sept. 8, Tennis Channel Live at the US Open will run 9 a.m.-11 a.m. ET August 26-September 4. On championship weekend Sept. 7-8, the show is set for 7-8 p.m. ET, following each day’s play.
Former players Paul Annacone (@paul\annacone), Chanda Rubin (@Chanda\Rubin) and Prakash Amritraj (@PrakashAmritraj) will be part of Tennis Channel’s on-air team for this year’s US Open. Annacone won the Australian Open doubles title in 1985 and later coached all-time greats Pete Sampras and Roger Federer to major championships. Rubin also won the Australian Open doubles tournament, in 1996. Amritraj won the NCAA men’s tennis championship in 2001, and after playing professionally, is now Tennis Channel’s year-round host of the “Prakash Worldwide” interview segments from events around the globe.
Award-winning announcer and longtime Tennis Channel host Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman) will anchor Tennis Channel Live at the US Open. Jon Wertheim, an author and reporter known for his tennis books and work with Sports Illustrated¸ CBS’ 60 Minutes and Tennis Channel, rounds out the network’s on-air roster.
Streaming service Tennis Channel+ will also celebrate the action in New York this year. Subscribers will have exclusive access to a daily US Open recap show hosted by Wertheim. Additionally, three episodes of the series Road to the US Open, depicting the tournament title runs of Coco Gauff, Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu, will be available on the platform.
The network’s Tennis.com website and app will provide US Open news and scores throughout the tournament. Visitors will also have access to highlights, statistics, daily orders of play, tournament information, and blogs and stories from the Tennis Channel editorial team. Fantasy games “Match Point Predictor” and “Racquet Bracket” are also available for free at http://tennis.com/play, with prizes granted to winners around the United States.
