It’s official: Tommy Paul is returning to Team World for this year's Laver Cup in San Francisco.

His two previous appearances, in 2022 and 2023, were both Team World victories (the only two victories for the team in the competition's seven-year history), but Paul missed last year’s Laver Cup in Berlin.

“It’s such an honor to be back on Team World,” said Paul in the Laver Cup’s press release. “Being part of the Laver Cup is just an incredible experience. Playing in the team environment, alongside guys that are your best friends, you want to perform not just for you, but also for them. You want to win, more than ever, and that creates an incredible energy.”

Paul is the third American confirmed for Team World in Laver Cup 2025.

Paul joins countrymen Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz on the still-to-be-completed Team World roster. Led by first-time captain Andre Agassi, the Americans are gearing up for a competitive showing, especially with a home crowd advantage.

I haven’t been to a Laver Cup that Team World has lost yet, so hoping to keep that momentum going! Tommy Paul

With Paul’s ranking sitting at ATP No. 13, the press release noted that Agassi is committing his Captain’s Pick on Paul if he doesn’t qualify based on ranking.

“Tommy is one of the most talented and dynamic players in the world and I know he will be a key member of our team,” Agassi said in Laver Cup’s press release. “Alongside Taylor and Ben, I am very pleased with the foundation of our lineup. We realize it will be a big challenge, but we are excited to embrace it.”
