Do not pass go, do not head to the locker room!

No. 2 seed Iga Swiatek found herself in a humorous pickle at the Australian Open on Tuesday when security denied her access to the players' area underneath Rod Laver Arena after she arrived for a gym session without wearing her tournament credential.

The situation was rectified in two minutes, as Swiatek placed a quick call to sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz, who ran down to deliver her proper identification.

Fans on social media firmly fell into two camps—either praising security for doing their jobs, or giggling that they "didn't recognize" the former world No. 1. And, ahead of the day's play in Melbourne, the crew watching on Tennis Channel Live recalled other famous instances of famous faces being turned away from tennis tournaments.

"You're not getting in, even if you're Iga Swiatek with six major titles," joked host Steve Weissman.

Martina Navratilova even recalled her own run-in with Australian Open security in her playing days.

"I had a guy reprimand me at 11:30 at night here in front of the locker room that I didn't have my pass on," she said. "We were waiting to play mixed doubles, it was almost midnight, and he goes, 'You need to wear your pass!' ... There was no one there. They like their rules here in Australia!"

And who can forget when Roger Federer famously recalled on The Daily Show in 2022 that, while on vacation in London that year, he was denied entry to the All England Club grounds because he was unable to produce a membership card.

Swiatek will head back to Rod Laver Arena—credential and all—on Wednesday afternoon when she faces reigning WTA Finals champion Elena Rybakina for a spot in the Australian Open semifinals.
