Daniel Evans, Karen Khachanov play longest US Open match, five hours and 35 minutes
Evans trailed 4-0 in the fifth set before running off the final six games.
The Frenchman led 5-2 in the third set, only to save a match point at 6-5 in the eventual tiebreak, before winning 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(6).
It looks like a case of Rome deja vu for Mohamed Lahyani after a British player came out on the wrong end of his call against Fabio Fognini.
Dan Evans, who eventually lost to the home favorite Thursday, managed to get back on serve anyway despite the missed call.
